Lenten Meals
| News & Events - Latest |
During the Great Lent the parishioners of St. Ignatius are sharing a lenten meal every Sunday. This important social event promotes forgiveness, cooperation and breaking-of-the-ice with visitors. Every Sunday we have a group of volunteer families that donate some of their time and cooking talent to procure a lenten meal for all. The meals must be vegetarian, not containing any traces of meat or milk products in accordance with our fasting rules.
If you like to have your family participate please contact Mr. Michael Chahine or Mr. Elias Bourdkane. All you have to do is communicate with the other families who might be offering the food for that Sunday that you chose and decide on what plates you can cook so we can have a variety. Can't cook?? then bring the pop!
Many thanks to the families who have already volunteered:
Week 1: Sunday Feb 21 - The Nazzal Families
Week 2: Sunday Feb 28 - The Kobti Families, and Khoury (Rana and Issa) family
Week 3: Sunday Mar 7 - Zayat (Bassam), Moamar (Farid), and Najjar (Adnan) families
Week 4: Sunday Mar 14 - Jabbour (George), and Skaf (Aadel) families
Week 5: Sunday Mar 21 - AbiSamra (George), and Hanna (George) families
May God Bless you and keep you and your families safe and health. We pray for all the hungry people in the world. Let the lenten season be a reminder for us to love and forgive each other.
